Mumbai Man Thrashed by Shiv Sena Workers For Uploading Derogatory Post on Facebook Against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena workers thrashed a man from Mumbai on Sunday for a derogatory comment against Maharashtra Chief Minister Udddhav Thackeray on social media platform Facebook. The man identified as Hiramani Tiwari, uploaded a derogatory post against Thackeray on December 19.

Mumbai, December 23: Shiv Sena workers thrashed a man from Mumbai on Sunday for a derogatory comment against Maharashtra Chief Minister Udddhav Thackeray on social media platform Facebook. The man identified as Hiramani Tiwari, uploaded a derogatory post against Thackeray on December 19. According to reports, Shiv Sena workers traced Tiwari home in Wadala East and asked him to come out of his residence. When Tiwari came out, they started thrashing him. The Sena workers also shaved his head. The video of the entire incident is doing rounds on social media.

Meanwhile, the notice was issued to Tiwari and the Shiv Sena workers by Wadala TT police station under section 149 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) to both sides. He further asserted that the group which beat him up should have taken legal recourse against his Facebook post than taking the law into their hands in this manner. The victim claimed that he also received threats on Facebook for his post. He however, deleted the post. On December 15, police used teargas shells inside the Jamia Millia Islamia University against students who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act. According to reports, police barged into the campus and dragged students out of the library before assaulting them.
