Mumbai, August 20: A special court in Mumbai sentenced a father to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his minor multiple times. The accused was convicted on the basis of testimony given by the victim and her mother. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the father sexually assaulted her daughter for the first time on May 17, 2017. The girl in her deposition before the court, said that on May 17, her father sexually assaulted her when her mother had gone to hospital with her younger brother. At the time of the incident, her two sisters were also at home. After sexually assaulting the victim, the father threatened her not to reveal it to anyone. After the girl told her mother about the incident, she confronted the accused, but he brutally assaulted her. The girl told the court that two later she was again sexually assaulted by her father. When the accused did not mend his ways, her mother took her to the police station and lodged a complaint and on the same day he was arrested. The court had also denied him bail.
