Mumbai, April 4: Local train services on Central Line in Mumbai were briefly disrupted early on Thursday after women passengers held a protest on tracks, alleging they were denied seat in local trains coming from Kasara and Karjat railway stations. Several women commuters gathered on tracks at Diva railway station, blocking local trains on Central Line.

According to reports, when a CSTM-bound fast local train arrived at Diva railway station around 7:00 am, women standing at footboard of compartments didn't let other passengers board on the train. This led to a verbal argument which soon turned into an agitation. Commuters at Diva station blocked the local train for about 15 minutes. UP Doctor Falls Off Mumbai Local Train While Fighting Mobile Snatcher, Loses Leg.

Following the blockade and protest, local trains were running behind the scheduled time on Central Line. Protesting women alleged that commuters coming from Kasara and Karjat often don't let them enter local trains.
