Mumbai,  December 18: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man jumped to death before a local train on the Harbour line in Kurla. According to a Times of India report, the incident has been captured on CCTV cameras. Around 10:50pm, the victim was waiting for his train along with other commuters, when he jumped on the track and placed his neck. His head was severed in the accident.

The reason for the suicide is not clear and police are probing his relatives and family members in order to find what prompted him to take this extreme step. A chit was found inside his pocket, with four numbers scribbled on it. Three of the numbers were not reachable and when police contacted the fourth number, a woman picked up, who helped police in identifying the body. He was a resident of Bihar and police suspect that he was probably heading to Lok Manya Tilak  from Kurla station to travel to Bihar. Mumbai locals is considered to be the lifeline in the city, but it claims several lives daily. As many as 406 people have died after falling off from Mumbai local trains from January to July 31 this year, as reported by Hindustan Times. Around 871 people have suffered serious injuries just seven months.
