Mumbai, October 2: A Bandra bound suburban local derailed near Mahim station on Harbour line on Wednesday morning. The suburban services on the line were suspended. There have been no reports of any injury to the passengers. Commuters are left stranded at the station as the services have been affected. However, considering Gandhi Jayanti is being celebrated across the nation on Wednesday, there will be comparatively less rush on the Mumbai locals as compared to any other usual working day.
The incident reportedly took place at 11:30 am when the wheel of a Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Bandra local came off between Mahim and King’s Circle stations. Trains, however, were running normally on the CSMT-Panvel leg of the line. An enquiry has been constituted by the GM of Western Railway to look into the incident. At present only Wadala to Bandra trains are nor running, according to a few commuters who have shared the update on the local trains on train groups.
