Mumbai Local Train Services Disrupted on Central Line Due to Technical Snag, Commuters End up Walking on Tracks

Local train services on the Central line were disrupted on Tuesday afteroon reportedly after some technical snag.

Mumbai, Sep 5: Local train services on the Central line were disrupted on Tuesday afteroon reportedly after some technical snag. Slow local trains were not moving ahead of Sion stations. Trains were halted before Matunga station as well. After the train stopped midway, stucked commuters ended up walking on the tracks to reach their distinasions.

"Slow train not moving ahead of #Sion station towards #Matunga due to "technical failure"," a passenger tweeted. Fast local trains halted at Sion stations to ease crowd on Sion and Matunga stations. "Train on the central line halted near Matunga since past 40 minutes," another commuter said. The cause of the technical snag has not been ascertained yet.

On Monday, commuters were forced to walk on tracks after local train services were hit due to a technical glitch near Wadala on the Harbour line.
