Mumbai, August 17: A five-year-old boy was kidnapped on Thursday from Mumbai. He was rescued by Mumbai police within hours of getting kidnapped.

The boy is a son of a supervisor who works in a garment factory and was reportedly kidnapped at 11 am.

The boy's parents received a call for money, the very morning he was kidnapped. The call for ransom asked them to pay Rs 1 lakh if they wanted their boy back.

The accused, who were arrested by the police for plotting the kidnapping case are one Akram Khan and his girlfriend.

The boy's father, the 38-year-old Shakir Shaikh, received a ransom call of Rs 1 lakh. That very call, proved to be the undoing of Akram Khan and his girlfriend as the Sakinaka police cracked the case on the basis of that call.

According to the police, Khan has a juice cart near the victim's house and kidnapped the child to clear his debts.

The police informed that Khan also accompanied the boy's father in search of the boy, after news of him missing first surfaced, according to a report in The Times of India.

Khan is said to be a regular visitor at the boy's home who he kidnapped. The police said that Khan had gone to the victim's ho and told her girlfriend to wait outside. He told his girlfriend, the co-accused in the case, to wait outside.

The victim's mother went to make tea for Khan when he visited their home. As soon as the boy's mother went to the kitchen, Khan sent the boy out where his girlfriend was waiting. She then took the boy to Khan's hutment.

Khan then made a call to the boy's father after some hours and said that he would kill the boy if the ransom amount was not paid. The police traced the call and managed to nab Khan and solve the case on Thursday itself.
