Mumbai, July 31:  A computer system failure has been reported at  Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) on Tuesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the check-ins are being handled manually, causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers. Reports inform that the issue is being resolved and the operations are expected to resume shortly.  The situation has led to a chaotic situation at the Mumbai's International airport.

According to a statement by the Mumbai International Airport, the computer systems are up and running and operations are likely to resume shortly.

In March this year, thousands of bags were misplaced, after a failure was detected in baggage handling system at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Delhi airport spokesperson said with the onset of the holiday weekend, Delhi Airport experienced an increased level of dangerous goods, particularly power banks and lighters in luggage. "Incident rate was 30 percent higher than average. It impacted baggage handling due to the manual reconciliation of the suspect baggage," the spokesperson said.

In June, several Air India flights were delayed at the IGI airport due to a problem in the airline’s SITA server. Reports informed that the server was down for over an hour. According to a TOI report, an Air India spokesperson confirmed the problem and informed that the server they use was down for a while and was later restored.
