Mumbai: IED Found Near Kalamboli's Sudhagad English School, Estate Agents Arrested
Navi Mumbai police have solved a case where an Improvised explosive device (IED) was found near Sudhagad English School in Kalamboli on June 17. According to the police, the IED was allegedly installed by three estate agents from the locality and Pune targeting builders from Navi Mumbai for extortion.

Following the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed by Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar. The IED was found inside a thermocol box. According to the Police, the bomb was planted by unidentified people. "On going through the CCTV footages of shops and schools, again and again, we zeroed in on a bike used by the accused which was seen passing from the spot three to four times. It was a strenuous process to identify this bike," said DCP Tushar Doshi to India Today.
Once the bike's number plate was clear it led police to Deepak Dandekar in Ulwe, an estate agent. Dandekar was the mastermind of extortion ring with his friends Manish Bhagat and Sushil Sathe from Pune. The accused told police that they planted a bomb near a builder's residence and if blast would have been successful they would have demanded Rs 2 crore. Meanwhile, they will be produced in court on Thursday.
