Mumbai, October 17: In a bizarre theft case in Kandivli, Mumbai, a couple discovered that valuables worth INR 2.4 lakh were missing from their home, including jewellery, a watch, sarees, sunglasses, and cash. The couple's former house help, Rupali Singh, had recently resigned, claiming personal reasons for her departure. It wasn’t until the complainant’s wife noticed her new saree was missing that suspicions arose. Upon contacting Singh for clarification, the wife was met with evasive responses. However, everything changed when she checked Singh's WhatsApp status and spotted Singh flaunting stolen items.

The case came to light when the couple noticed multiple items missing after Singh's abrupt resignation on October 7. According to a report by the Times of India, the complainant's wife grew increasingly suspicious when she could not find the saree she intended to wear for the festive occasion of Dussehra.
