Mumbai, August 31: In a shocking incident, a 33-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was arrested on Wednesday under suspicion of murdering a 17-year-old teenager, who was also known as his wife's 'muh-bola bhai' (a term signifying a self-acknowledged brother). Reportedly, the accused man chopped the victim's body into five pieces.
According to media reports, the accused, Shafique Ahmed Sheikh, an autorickshaw driver, allegedly killed the youth because he often passed comments about Sheikh's wife and her sister. After the suspect's arrest, the victim's remains were discovered within the confines of Sheikh's two-room residence in the MHADA locality of the RCF area in suburban Chembur, as per a statement from an official. According to the RCF police station official, Ishwar, the victim had longstanding relations with the family of Sheikh's wife. Despite lacking a blood relation, Sheikh's wife and her sister regarded Ishwar as a brother. Sheikh often objected to Ishwar's comments about his wife and sister-in-law and was apparently infuriated as Ishwar did not stop doing so. Fed up, Sheikh allegedly took him to his flat, stabbed him to death, and chopped up the body on Monday.
After the victim went missing for two days, the accused's father-in-law asked him about Ishwar. Suspecting that something was wrong, he informed the cops. In another incident that occurred in Mumbai, four persons were arrested, and ten others are wanted for allegedly killing a 40-year-old man and injuring two, including a boy, in the city's Chunnabhatti area in connection with an earlier police complaint against them, an official said on Monday. On Saturday night, the accused had stopped Sajid Ali Qureshi and stabbed him several times as his brother had complained to the police against them earlier.
