Mumbai, July 1: A shocking incident of molestation has come to light from Mumbai, where an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly molested five young women, including two minor girls. The alleged molestation incident occurred on Friday, June 28, when the accused molested a 15-year-old girl in Kandivali. The incident came to light after the victim, along with her parents, approached the police and lodged a complaint.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the accused has been identified as Rohit Bhosale (25). police officials said that the accused, a resident of Kandivali (East), was arrested on Saturday, June 29, based on the victim's complaint. She further stated that the auto driver stopped his vehicle in front of the Evershine Crown building next to her and went on to molest her. After the incident, the girl rushed home and informed her parents, who took her to Samata Nagar police station, where the victim lodged a complaint against the accused. Cops said that after the victim's complaint, four young women, including a minor girl, also complained of molestation.

The victims told police that they were also molested by the same auto driver. Explaining the accused's modus operandi, a police official said that Bhosale would target young women between 2 PM and 7 PM. A preliminary probe also revealed that the accused would target young women after being inebriated. He was booked and arrested under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
