Mumbai, December 17: A fire broke out in the bustling Andheri locality of Mumbai on Monday, leading to traffic snarls and panic among locals. The blaze, reported to be of "Level-3", erupted at the ESIC Kamgar Hospital at around 4 pm. At least two persons were confirmed dead as per the latest updates.

Around 106 other injured persons were admitted to another hospital, after suffering injuries in the fire. Further rescue operations were underway as more people were reported to have been trapped inside. According to reports, 10 fire tenders were placed on the spot for conducting firefighting operations while 1 Rescue van, 16 ambulances were also present. Two Were Killed in Blaze at Andheri Chawl in November.

The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. The hospital authorities, along with the fire brigade, will conduct an inquiry to find the exact cause of the blaze after the situation is brought under control.
