Fire at Aaditya Arcade Building:

Fire incidents are frequent in Mumbai where millions live in cramped and dilapidated properties because of high rents. Many commercial outlets don't follow fire-safety regulations, giving an open invitation to tragedies.

In August, a huge fire broke out inside the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited or MTNL exchange building in Bandra-Kurla Complex with 84 people being rescued from the terrace of the building, an effort which lasted several hours.
