Mumbai, December 23: A fire of minor-to-moderate intensity was reported in Kandivali (East) region of the city on Sunday evening. At least four fire tenders were rushed to the site to douse off the flames. No casualties were reported by the time this report was first published. The firefighting operations were, however, underway.

The fire incident comes six days after a blaze at Andheri's ESIC Kamgar Hospital claimed 10 lives. An inquiry has been launched into the fatal accident, with the civic body assuring to fix accountability for the deaths.
Another fire was reported on Wednesday night at the high-end Trident Hotel, located at Nariman Point. NO fatalities or injuries were reported in the fire, which broke out in the hotel's godown and spread to the showrooms on the ground floor.
