Mumbai, December 17: A massive fire broke out in a building in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai on Tuesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the blaze broke out on the fifth floor of a residential building in Ghatkopar East. As soon as the incident was reported, five fire tenders were rushed at the spot. The dousing and rescue operations were underway. No casualties have been reported so far.
According to details by a fire official, the blaze erupted at ground-plus-10 Shriji Tower on Rajawadi Road around 5.42 pm. The fire-fighting operations were ongoing and no injuries have been reported. Reports inform that as the fire took place on the fifth floor, there is a possibility of few residents being stuck inside the residential building in suburban Ghatkopar.

In October, a similar fire incident was reported from the Andheri area where fire broke out on the sixth floor of a 22-storied commercial building. In September, four people were killed and several injured after a massive fire broke out at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) plant in Navi Mumbai area of Maharashtra.
