Mumbai Drugs Menace: 2 Nigerians Trying to Flee Hurt Policemen, Cocaine Seized and 1 Arrested

Mumbai, April 14: Two personnel of Mumbai Police suffered injuries after they tried to nab two Nigerians suspected of possessing and dealing in drugs. The incident took place near Aarey Colony in Mumbai, around 1.30 am on Saturday, reported The Times of India. Upon reaching a nearby club named Emerald Club, the police officials noticed two Nigerians moving around suspiciously.

When the two policemen tried to talk to the Nigerians, they started running. Sensing something suspicious, the policemen followed the two Nigerians.

This is when one of the Nigerians punched the two constables. Sub-inspector Avdhut Wadikar suffered contusion and constable Bhabad face injuries. Wadikar suffered dental injury as he lost a tooth after the punch.

While the Nigerian who beat the policemen fled away, Mumbai Police caught his accomplice. The police seized 22 grams of cocaine, worth Rs 2.2 lakh from the accomplice. The police is on the lookout for the absconding Nigerian, identified as Orji.
