Mumbai Crime: Severed Decomposed Head of Woman Found in Kurla A Week After Torso

On December 30, the woman's body without the head was found near the Naval gate. Police have sent the severed head to Sion hospital and a DNA test will be done to find out if all the parts found belonged to the same woman.

Mumbai, January 6: A week after the headless body of a woman was found in Ghatkopar, the severed head of the victim was recently traced in Kurla. According to a Times of India report, police has informed that it is quite likely that the head belongs to the same woman whose body was found last week.

A constable from the Mumbai Crime Branch stumbled upon a plastic bag, sealed with brown tape adhesive all over with the severed head inside. The head was in a highly decomposed state. The woman was found wearing a nightgown and police suspect that she might belong from a nearby slum or possibly lived in a slum rehabilitation building.

Last month, the gruesome murder of 59-year-old Benet Rebello shocked Mumbaikars. He was allegedly killed by his adopted 19-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend. The murder came to light after one of the suitcases containing chopped body parts had washed ashore Mahim beach on December 2, 2019.  A suitcase containing a limb and arm of Rebello was found from the Mithi river in BKC on December 10.
