Mumbai, September 2: A Lamborghini car crashed into the railings of a Mumbai bridge on Saturday night. The driver of the vehicle is reportedly the son of a former MLA, and was driving on the Bandra-Worli sea link bridge when the accident took place. Taksheel Mehta, the son of former Mira-Bhayander MLA Narendra Mehta, was travelling towards Worli at 7.30 a.m when he lost control of the expensive car and hit the railing, according to a report by NDTV. The MLA's son has been charged by the police for reckless driving and risking the safety of others. 19-year-old Takshsheel was speeding his opulent Lamborghini Huracan EVO from Bandra to Worli on Saturday morning. According to authorities, he lost control of the car and slammed it against the Sea Link railing.
Taksheel suffered burns to his right hand even though the airbags in the car kept him alive. However, the Lamborghini was severely damaged. Taksheel was extricated from the car by the swift arrival of the Worli police, who also transported him to Poddar Hospital for further examination and treatment. The Worli police brought the automobile to the police station after the collision to avoid clogging up the road with traffic. Taksheel has been charged with violating sections 279 (rash driving) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), respectively, of the Indian Penal Code, the officials reported.
