Mumbai, July 10: The Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case accused Mihir Shah had allegedly spoken to his girlfriend 40 times before he abandoned his car, hailed an auto and went to her house. Police are now likely to detain Shah’s girlfriend for questioning. They aim to determine what Shah shared about the accident and whether he was intoxicated during their conversations.

Shah, the 24-year-old son of suspended Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader Rajesh Shah, has been arrested and sent to police custody till July 16 in connection with the BMW hit-and-run case that killed Kaveri Nakhwa and injured her husband, Pradeep. The incident occurred in Worli at 5:30 am on Sunday when Shah's BMW collided with the Nakhwas' scooter, dragging Kaveri for 1.5 km before fleeing the scene. Mumbai BMW Hit-and-Run Case: Prime Accused Mihir Shah Admits He Was at the Wheel, Sent to Police Custody Till July 16 (Watch Video).

Shah was ultimately apprehended after Avdeep turned on his phone for 15 minutes on Tuesday, revealing their location. Shah was presented in court on Wednesday and remanded to police custody until July 16.

This incident follows a similar high-profile case just two months ago when a Porsche, driven by an allegedly intoxicated minor, crashed into a motorcycle in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar, killing two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh.
