Mumbai: ASI Employee Arrested For Sending Lewd Gifts to Woman And Stalking

Mumbai, August 5: An employee of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) was arrested recently for allegedly sending lewd gifts to an artist from Churchgate. The accused has been charged under Section 354 (D) Stalking and Section 67 of the IT ACT for publishing and transmitting obscene material in electronic form. On their first meeting, he got to know his name, then he would roam around her house and from the domestic help, he got other information. He used to then constantly harass her, by sending her lewd gifts, like underwear at her art gallery. The woman went and filed a complaint at the Marine Drive police, and he was picked up from Goa.

In an incident of stalking from Uttar Pradesh a few months back, a youth opened fire in a hotel in Robertsganj in Sonbhadra district, injuring a man. He was stalking a Bhojpuri actress who was staying at the hotel.

The youth was identified as Pankaj Yadav. He was stalking Bhojpuri film actress Ritu Singh and broke into her room at the hotel with a pistol. He held the actress hostage and threatened her to marry him, according to media reports. Crew members of the Bhojpuri film unit from Mumbai were staying at the hotel for a film shoot when the incident took place.
