Mumbai: Accused of Rape by Partner, Man Produces ‘Live-In Relationship Agreement’ to Get Bail; Police Launch Probe to Verify ‘Relationship Pact’

The accused in a rape case has presented a 'live-in relationship' agreement for anticipatory bail, which includes a clause preventing either party from filing sexual harassment claims.

Mumbai, September 3:  A man accused of raping his partner presented a "live-in relationship" agreement in court to secure anticipatory bail. The agreement, which he claimed was signed by both parties, stipulated that neither could file sexual harassment claims against the other while living together. However, the woman disputed the agreement's validity, denying her signature.

The official agreement states that the couple will live together from August 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, without filing sexual harassment claims against each other. The woman will reside at the man's home but can leave with a month's notice if dissatisfied. During this time, her relatives are not allowed to visit her, and she must not cause any distress to the man.
