Mumbai, January 17: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy who was flying a kite on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, got drowned in an open manhole near a construction site in Nalasopara. According to a Times of India report, the victim's body was brought out from the manhole, which was filled with water.
A case of kidnapping was registered after the child Vansh had gone missing. According to the father, Vansh had left home at around 6 pm to fly kites, along with his friends. After two hours passed by and he didn't return home, his family started searching for him. However, when his no trace was found, a missing complaint was registered. Police located Vansh's dead body floating in the manhole on Thursday. Two open manholes were located next to each other. Locals informed police that the construction workers take out water from these manholes. The victim's family demanded strict action against the builder. Police suspect that Vansh could have fallen inside the manhole by chasing after the kites.
