Mumbai, July 18: In a horrific incident, an 11-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a friend’s house in Mumbai’s Ulhasnagar on Monday. According to a report by TOI, the boy's body was found with his throat slit at a family friend’s room in a chawl in Ulhasnagar. Reports inform that the police have detained the friend, Zakir Ansari (45) and four others for questioning in connection with the case. The Police is yet to verify if they were involved in the murder.
According to Police, Ansari was not at home when the body was found, and his room was unlocked. The Hill Line police said Ansari lived alone in Ulhasnagar 5; his wife and children are in their hometown. The deceased has been identified as Harsh Alhat who lived in Maneragaon in Ulhasnagar 4 with his parents. The boy’s parents are employed as labourers at a jeans manufacturing factory in Ulhasnagar 5 and Ansari works at the same factory.
“We have detained Ansari and four others from the area on suspicion,” confirmed inspector S K Khandare from Hill Line police station. Reports inform that a case of kidnapping and murder has been registered against unidentified people.
The incident came to light when the boy’s parents didn’t find Harsh home after they returned from home on Monday night. After they didn’t find him at home, the parents started searching for their son and reached the Jai Mata Colony in Ulhasnagar 5 nearby where he went to play with friends. Reports informed that the parents later went to Ansari’s room, where Harsh usually played with his friends.
According to a report by TOI, the boy’s father went to Ansari’s room around 10.30pm and was shocked to see his son’s body on the floor with his throat slit. Seeing his son’s body, Ganesh broke down and screamed for help. The neighbours who came to help him later informed the police about the horrific incident. Police informed that they are looking at every possibility and are also investigating if the boy was killed in Ansari’s house by someone else over an old enmity.
