Mumbai, June 12: A fatal accident was reported close to the Churchgate station in Mumbai on Wednesday. A 62-year-old man died after part of a hoarding collapsed and fall on him. The deceased was rushed to the GT Hospital following the incident. The doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival.

The fatal accident is being linked to the onset of Monsoon, as the billboard is likely to have collapsed due to the high winds blowing across the coast of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The two states have been affected by the deep sea Cyclone Vayu, which is expected to make landfall close to Porbandar tomorrow.
So far, three casualties have been reported in the pre-Monsoon showers in Mumbai. While two deaths were electrocuted in Kandivali east, a woman died in Chembur after the tin ceiling of her shantie collapsed.
