Muharram 2018: Narendra Modi to Attend Ashara Mubaraka Organized by Dawoodi Bohra Community in Madhya Pradesh on September 14

New Delhi, Sep 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to attend the Ashara Mubaraka- the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. According to a tweet by ANI, the commemoration is organized by the Dawoodi Bohra community, a sect within Ismaili branch of Shias in Indore. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also be present.

Muharram 1440 will begin on Wednesday, September 12 in India, and the Ashura will fall 10 days later on September 21. It must be stated that with the start of Muharram month, Muslims across the world have entered the year 1440 Hijri. It is also called Hijri Calendar as it began with the Hijra or migration of Prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Medina.
