Mother Unable to Breastfeed Her Child As Doctor Forgets Hot Water Bottle on Her Chest During Delivery in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, August 31: A negligent doctor from a private hospital in Indirapuram area, Ghaziabad burnt a woman's chest during her delivery operation. The woman is now unable to breastfeed her child due to the chest burns and pain. The doctor forgot hot water bottle on her chest for about 2 hours as the woman lay unconscious during the operation. After waking up, the woman screamed with horror. The child is now suffering from Jaundice and the woman has blamed the doctors for her inability to feed the child, thus causing him the disease. The hospital has denied their mistake in this matter. The woman has then complained to the Indirapuram police. Reports state the woman is a resident of Noida's Goud City. She was admitted to a private hospital for her delivery on August 14. During the operation, she remained unconscious and experienced terrible pain in her chest when she woke up. When the family and doctors came back, they realised about the hot water bottle kept on her chest to keep her warm. But it caused skin burns on her chest. The doctor then started another treatment on her. She was discharged on August 17, since there was no specialist in the hospital.

She went on to another hospital in Delhi to begin treatment for the burns. The doctors in the other hospital told she was being administered with wrong treatment and medication, in absence of any specialist. Her medical examination was done on the spot.

Meanwhile, the CMO of the hospital has assured that the health department will conduct an investigation into the case. If they find any mistakes, strict actions will be taken against the operating doctors.
