Mumbai, December 14: Spiritual guru Moraridas Prabhudas Hariyani popularly known as Morari Bapu on Thursday visited the streets of Kamathipura, Mumbai, to interact with sex workers. Morari Bapu, the reciter of Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas, went to kamathipura, the red light area of Mumbai, to meet sex workers and to invite them for his Katha in Ayodhya, Mumbai Mirror reported. Morari Bapu extended an invitation to sex workers to attend his Katha based on Tulsidas's Manas Ganika in Ayodhya from December 22-30. Bapu also instructed it's aides to arrange lodging and boarding, free of cost, for the entire duration of Katha. It is noteworthy that Manas Ganika is based on the interaction of Tulsidas with a sex worker 'Vasanti'.
Morari Bapu said that Vasanti, on whom Manas Ganika is based, used to live on the outskirts of Ayodhya city. “Vasanti asked Tulsidas to come to her house and tell her the story of Lord Ram. She said that the society had ostracised her but surely the God treated everyone equally. Tulsidas went to her house and recited the Ram Katha,” Morari Bapu told the Mumbai Mirror.
He added that his event in Ayodhya has nothing to do with the ongoing debate on Ram Mandir issue and he is the strong advocate of peace. Meanwhile, Morari Bapu is the first spiritual leader to travel to the area, where, sex workers reside.
