New Delhi, September 12: The intensity of monsoon across the nation has decreased with moderate showers in several states. In several states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bihar, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, significant relief was seen from extremely heavy rainfall and thundershower activities. According to media reports, the withdrawal of the monsoon season will commence between September 15 and September 20. In Madhya Pradesh, the Karbala bridge in Sehore submerged due to overflowing Siwan river. The river breached following continuous rainfall in the region since the last few days. In Uttar Pradesh, the Saryu river in Ayodhya is flowing above danger level and the area has been put on alert. Arrangements have been at 'Mahasaryu arti ghat' in the wake of the current weather conditions.
In Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, monsoon started weakening with light rainfall in some parts. The weather agency has predicted light to moderate showers till September 15. Meanwhile, in Goa, the IMD has issued a warning for the fishermen advising them not to venture in the sea due to strong winds that are likely to be recorded during the next five days.
According to a weather bulletin by IMD, several places in Gujarat, eastern and western Madhya Pradesh, eastern Uttar Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Squally weather conditions are likely in the Gujarat region. IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into these areas for the next few days.
