Monsoon 2019 Update: Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal Likely to Receive Heavy Rainfall Over Next 24 Hours, Predicts IMD
As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Mumbai are going to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming 24 hours.
New Delhi, July 9: With the monsoon knocking the door of the country, heavy to heavy rainfall has been predicted in Western, Northern and Eastern regions in the coming 24 hours. As per the Indian Meteorological Department, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Mumbai are going to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming 24 hours.
According to Skymet weather, extremely heavy rainfall has been predicted over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, while moderate rainfall in with isolated heavy spells and strong wind will occur over Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and Uttarakhand. Apart from this, parts of Haryana and Punjab, thundershowers are expected. Also, parts of Bihar are expected to face moderate to heavy rain and thundershower all over the state. In Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi, light showers are expected, while in some regions of Uttar Pradesh heavy rainfall can be experienced.
Considering the case of Mumbai and suburbs, light to heavy rainfall are expected in the coming 18-24 hours. Also, predictions of the high tide have been made and people are cautioned not to venture in the sea. Predictions from the MeT department also state that the remaining regions of teh country are about to receive moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days.
