Monsoon 2019 Officially Over in Mumbai, To Recede From Other Parts of Maharashtra in Next 48 Hours

Monsoon is finally over in the city. The withdrawal has been late by almost two weeks. According to a Times of India report, the rainy season is over in half of Maharashtra and will recede from the other parts of the state in the next 48 hours.

Mumbai, October 15: Monsoon is finally over in the city. The withdrawal has been late by almost two weeks. According to a Times of India report, the rainy season is over in half of Maharashtra and will recede from the other parts of the state in the next 48 hours.

Mumbai has received 669.6 mm of rainfall till September 30, which was considered as the official withdrawal date of the monsoon from the city. With the end of the monsoon, people have started to feel the heat. Monsoon 2019: IMD Forecasts 99% Rainfall in August, 100% in September.

Southwest monsoon usually starts to withdraw from west Rajasthan around September 1, but this year there was a delayed withdrawal starting on October 9. According to a release issued by the India Meteorological Department on Monday, monsoon has withdrawn from the Arabian Sea (Mumbai), parts of Konkan, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, and conditions are favourable for further withdrawal in the next few days.
