Monsoon 2019: In Rajasthan, Pratapgarh, Kota Witness Flood-Like Situation Due to Incessant Rainfall; IMD Predicts Heavy Showers in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh

Due incessant rains in Rajasthan, several districts of the state are facing the flood-like situation. Due to a rise in the water level of Jakham and Mahi rivers, several parts of Pratapgarh district are submerged in water. Rescue operations were also undertaken in the district.

Jaipur, September 15: Due incessant rains in Rajasthan, several districts of the state are facing the flood-like situation. As the water level has risen in Jakham and Mahi rivers, several parts of Pratapgarh district are submerged. Rescue operations were also undertaken in the district. Similarly, Kota is also facing a flood-like situation because of heavy downpour in the neighbouring state of Madhya Pradesh. According to a report, published in India Today, five and a half lakh cusecs of water had been released so far. On Friday, 18 gates of Kota Barrage dam were opened. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams were also called to provide help to the affected people. Many people were rescued and shifted to safer places. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh, and heavy rainfall at several places over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh. West Bengal, Sikkim and parts of Gujarat can also witness heavy rainfall. Fifty villages in Gujarat’s Dahod are on a high alert due to heavy rainfall in the district. The weather agency also predicted moderate to heavy showers in Mumbai.
