Monsoon 2019: Heavy Rainfall to Lash Parts of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar Over Next 24 Hours, Says IMD

New Delhi, September 27: Heavy rainfall is likely to lash parts of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar over the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. In its weather bulletin, the IMD informed that the cyclonic circulation lies over north Maharashtra-south Gujarat coasts and adjoining areas. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy falls likely over Bihar during next 3 days with extremely heavy falls likely on September 29.
In Uttar Pradesh, all schools and colleges of all boards in Varanasi will remain closed on Friday and Saturday due to heavy rainfall in the area. In Gujarat, heavy rainfall is likely over Saurashtra and Kutch and Konkan & Goa during next 24 hours. Squally weather is likely to prevail over Gujarat coast. The organisation had advised fishermen not to venture into these areas for the next few days. The weather agency stated that a low pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 28th September and is likely to become more marked during the subsequent 48 hours. The IMD stated that several other areas including east Uttar Pradesh , Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand will also receive heavy rainfall during next 2 days. In its All India Weather Warning Bulletin, the IMD said, "Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan and Goa".
For September 28, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Bihar, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Region and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat.
