Mumbai, October 19: Mumbai and its adjoining areas including Thane and Palghar are expected to receive heavy post-monsoon rainfall in the next 24 hours. In its weather bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the city will be lashed with torrential rains on Saturday and Sunday. The heavy showers will be accompanied by thundershowers and squally winds. The weather agency informed that the change in weather condition is due to a low pressure area which lies over east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea.

"Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places is very likely over Konkan and Goa during next 24 hours. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely to occur over major parts of south peninsular India during next 4-5 days", the IMD said. Monsoon 2019: Highest September Rainfall Recorded in 2019 After 102 Years, Says IMD Report.
