Monsoon 2019 Forecast for September 30: Heavy Rains to Lash Gujarat Today As Depression Lies Over Kandla, Rainfall to Reduce in Flood-Hit Bihar

In its daily weather bulletin on Monday, the IMD said the depression is very likely to move east -northeastwards during next 24 hours as a depression and weakened gradually thereafter. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Gujarat state on Monday.

New Delhi, September 30: Heavy rainfall is expected to lash parts of Gujarat on Monday as a depression, which was over Kutch, gradually moved towards the Kandla region. In its daily weather bulletin on Monday, the IMD said the depression is very likely to move east-northeastwards during next 24 hours and would bring heavy rainfall over Gujarat. The depression will be weakened gradually thereafter. Under the influence of the depression, heavy to very heavy rainfall along with strong winds and thunderstorm is likely over Gujarat on Monday. The IMD added saying that the rainfall intensity and distribution in Gujarat is very likely to reduce from October 1.

The IMD further stated that the rainfall activity in Bihar is very likely to reduce from today, i.e. September 30 onwards. Bihar has experienced widespread rainfall during the last three days since Friday. Torrential rains continued in Bihar since Friday, killing as many as 29 people across the state. Normal life was thrown out of gear as several areas were submerged in flood waters while many places were water-logged due to heavy rainfall. According to weather department officials, Patna has received 151 mm rain since Saturday -- a record in recent years. Monsoon 2019: IMD Forecasts 99% Rainfall in August, 100% in September.

"Heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls very likely at isolated places over Gujarat state, West Bengal & Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Rajasthan and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and northeatern states", the IMD said in its all India Weather Bulletin.
