Mumbai's packed local trains, which often run with more passengers than it can hold, does not only cause inconvenience to the passengers, but as a recent case points out, can also give ideas to miscreants for serious crime and violation. A 29-year-old man from Nalasopara area was arrested by Mumbai police after fellow passengers turned him in for allegedly flashing a woman on board in a Virar fast local on Sunday and touching her taking advantage of the crowd in the train. The incident reportedly took place in a fast train on Sunday, when Avijit Singh, taking advantage of the packed to capacity compartment, unzipped his pants and deliberately touched a 24-year-old woman standing near him. Boy Who Flashed at Woman Passenger In Mumbai Local Arrested, Sent for 10 Days of Custody.

The woman said that she had felt something bothering her earlier near Virar station too, but she felt it might have been due to the crowd in the train. The girl's relatives then caught hold of Singh and along with commuters, took the man to railway police station in Andheri on Sunday in the evening. Senior Railway police inspector from Andheri said that the man has been charged with section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to a report in The Times of India, the woman was returning after paying respects at a temple in Virar along with 10 other members of her family. But after Borivali, as the train was nearing Jogeshwari station, the woman jostled for some space in the overcrowded compartment, and noticed that the man had unzipped his pants and had been touching her intentionally.
