Lucknow, January 18: Mohan Bhagwat, Rashtriya Swaymsevak Sangh (RSS) chief on Friday said that next key item on the agenda of his organisation is a law restricting number of children born per couple. Bhagwat, who is a four-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, told a gathering in Moradabad that the next item of RSS agenda is that a couple should have only two kids. According to a report by Amar Ujala, saying that the two-child law was 'an opinion' of his organisation  and the government had to decide on it.

Taking a jibe at Bhagwat, NCP leader Nawab Malik said that the RSS Chief isn't really aware that Maharashtra and several other states already have several child laws. "Mohan Bhagwat ji wants a two child law. He maybe doesn't know that Maharashtra already has several laws on this and many other states also. Still if he wants to forcefully do vasectomies then let Modiji make such a law.We saw in past what happened with this". Malik said. Mohan Bhagwat's 'Hindu Rashtra' Remarks: Sikh Organisations Slam RSS Chief For His 'Daunting Mindset'.

Here's the tweet by Nawab Malik:

The RSS Chief made the child law statement while interacting with volunteers of the RSS in Moradabad. He reached there on Wednesday evening and will be meeting RSS functionaries in the region over the next four days. In 2015, Bhagwat had called for a population policy during his annual Dussehra address at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.
