Chennai, July 22: A bike rider in Tamil Nadu died after his phone exploded and he lost his balance in his vehicle near Kamutnakudi village. The incident took place on the Madurai-Paramakudi highway on Sunday, July 21. According to police officials, he lost his balance and fell from the vehicle, due to which he sustained head injuries. He was declared dead on the spot.
As per The Hindu, the deceased, G. Rajini, was a 36-year-old man who worked as a security guard at a bank. Rajini had kept his phone in his trouser pocket while riding his motorcycle near Kamuthakudi on the Madurai-Paramakudi highway when the cell phone battery suddenly exploded. This caused burn injuries on his thighs. Upon falling, he faced severe head injuries. On examination, he was declared dead. Police officials said that he had gone to Madurai to buy clothes and was on his way home when the freak mishap occurred. R. Pandi, 31- years -old, who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle with Rajini, also sustained injuries. He suffered bleeding wounds on his cheeks and shoulders. After receiving first aid at the Government Hospital in Paramakudi, he was admitted to the Ramanathapuram Government Medical College for further treatment.
