Bhopal, July 20: In another incident of mob lynching, a 55-year-old man was thrashed by a mob for allegedly killing peacocks in Lasudiya Atri village in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The incident took place at 9 pm under the jurisdiction of the Kukdeshwar Police Station. An FIR was registered against ten people of Gurjar community on the complaint of deceased’s brother Bansilal Banchada. Police arrested nine of the ten accused. According to reports, Ambalal Gurjar allegedly spotted four people were carrying dead peacocks on a bike. As he tried to stop them, three people escaped from the spot but Banchada was held by Gurjar. According to reports, a separate case was also registered against the victim, his son Rahul, his brother Bansilal and one more for killing peacocks which isbanned by the law. As per the Indian Forest Act of 1972, people found guilty under this law can be jailed for up to seven years.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 50-year-old man was allegedly beaten up on suspicion of his being involved in ‘child lifting’ on Thursday evening in state’s Raisen district. The man identified as Sheshnag, later succumbed to his injuries at a community health centre (CHC) on Friday afternoon. He was a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
