The Election Commission of India (EC) has sounded the election horn for the upcoming polls in the five states of the country, and Mizoram will vote to elect its 9th Legislative Assembly on November 7 this year. Mizoram has 40 Assembly seats, with 39 reserved for Scheduled Tribes (STs). The current Mizoram Assembly is in session from December 18, 2018, until December 17, 2023. Chhattisgarh, along with Mizoram, will vote in the first phase of voting on November 7. Madhya Pradesh will vote on November 17, the same day as Chhattisgarh's second phase of voting. Rajasthan and Telangana will hold elections on November 25 and 30, respectively. On December 3, the results of all five Assemblies will be announced.

The main parties in Mizoram are the Mizo National Front (MNF), the Indian National Congress (INC), the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the National People's Party (NPP). Zoramthanga has been the Chief Minister of Mizoram since 2018. The MNF won 26 seats in the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections and became the administration.   1. Mizoram CM Zoramthanga (MNF)

    Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has officially entered the fray, filing registration papers for the next Assembly elections on October 20.   5. Vanlalsailova (BJP)

Voters in Mizoram

Mizoram has 8,51,895 regular voters and 4,973 service voters.
