Bengaluru, February 1: In a tragic incident, both the pilots were killed after a mirage 2000 trainer fighter aircraft of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) crashed at HAL Airport in Bengaluru. According to a tweet by ANI, both pilots had ejected, but one of them died as he had landed on the wreckage of the aircraft. More details awaited. The reason of the crash is yet to be ascertained. According to reports, the incident happened near Yamalur off old Airport Road in Bengaluru.

On January 28, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar fighter plane crashed in Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh. Reports informed that the pilot managed to eject safely from the aircraft. The aircraft had taken off from Gorakhpur Air Force Base. In its statement, the IAF informed that an inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash. "Today morning, a Jaguar aircraft while on a routine mission from Gorakhpur, crashed. The pilot has been ejected safely", the IAF said.
In June 2018, a Jaguar fighter plane of the Indian Air Force crashed in Gujarat's Kutch region and the debris of the plane was found in Mundra Taluka of Kutch. The pilot on board, identified as Air Commodore Sanjay Chauhan was killed in the tragic accident.
