Jaipur, January 9: A minor girl, who was allegedly raped and impregnated by a religious leader, is not pregnant and she is possessed by 'evil spirit', said the Rajasthan police. An NGO filed a complaint and based on a sonography report claimed that the girl was pregnant after being raped by a religious leader in Ajmer. However, after an investigation, cops concluded that the minor girl is not pregnant, adding that she is 'possessed by evil spirits'.

Raksha Sharma, an advocate who runs NGO Sakhi Saheli, alleged that the girl was raped by the religious leader. He claimed he possesses a sonography report of the minor girl which confirms that she is indeed pregnant. He also alleged that the victim and her family was pressurised by the spiritual leader and his followers for abortion. Her parents are coercing her to abort since they do not wish to defame the 'guru', Sharma alleged.

Afraid of being ostracised by their community, the girl's parents are ready to sacrifice their daughter, the advocate told TOI. Following the complaint, the superintendent of police (SP) directed Station House Officer (SHO), Gagel Suman, to probe the allegations. After the probe, the Suman-led team concluded that the girl was not pregnant. The SHO said statements of the girl and her parents were recorded during the investigation.
