“Curious case of Supreme Court. Does an urgent hearing on Sunday to decide legalities of government formation in Maharashtra but doesn’t deem it necessary to do the same for 8 million people under lockdown in J&K since 5th August,” she tweeted. Mehbooba Mufti has been placed under detention since the abrogation of Article 37 on August 5. On Sunday, the Supreme Court heard a joint petition by Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party against Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari's move to invite Devendra Fadnavis to form the government.
Mehbooba Mufti was recently shifted from Srinagar’s Cheshma Shahi, where she was lodged from August 5, earlier this month. Although the government has been claiming that everything is normal in Jammu and Kashmir, several reports have alleged that valley is still struggling for normalcy.
