Mumbai, February 25: In what can be seen as bad news for Mumbaikars, local train services in the city is likely to be affected on Sunday, February 26 as the Western Railway and Central Railway has announced mega blocks. The Western Railway said that there will be a jumbo block on February 26.

In an official statement, the Western Railway said that it will be undertaking a Jumbo Block of five hours on the up and down fast lines between Santacruz and Goregaon stations. Mega Block on Sunday, December 25, 2022: Mumbai Local Train Services To Be Affected on Central and Harbour Lines; Night Block on Western Line in View of Christmas.

Mega Block on Central Railway

As per a report in Mid-day, the jumbo block is being conducted in order to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signaling and overhead equipment. The jumbo block on Western Railway will be from 10.00 hours to 15.00 hours. While there will be a jumbo block on the up and down fast lines, services will be operational on Slow lines between Santacruz and Goregaon stations.

Besides WR, the Central Railway has also announced a mega block for Sunday, February 26. The CR will be operating a block on UP and Down lines between Matunga and Mulund stations from 11.05 am to 3.55 pm. There will be one more mega block on Central Railway's Down and UP Harbour lines between Vashi to Panvel from 11.05 am to 4.05 pm. However, special local train services will be run Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai-Vashi section during the mega block period.
