Mumbai, December 2: The Mumbai local train services on Sunday on the Central and Harbour Line will remain affected for at least six hours. No trains will ply between Masjid and Sandhurst Road stations during the block period. However, no mega block in the day has been scheduled on the Western Line, which is a sigh of relief for the passengers travelling on that route.

According to the information, in the Central Railways stated that the maintenance works of rail tracks and other related works would be carried out for six hours between 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM on Sunday. The maintenance work is reportedly being carried out to dismantle one span and one girder of the FOB at Masjid railway station (Mumbai end). Due to this, the CR will operate a special traffic and power block for six hours during that period and will affect the local train traffic on four lines - Up and Down Harbour Lines and Up and Down slow lines.

With the power block been carried out, the last Down train on Down slow main line will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) for Kalyan at 10.14 AM and Byculla at 10.22 AM, announced the Central Railways. Also, passengers travelling to Panvel from CSMT on Down slow Harbour Line will get to catch the last Down train at 10.10 AM, while last Down local train on the same line will leave at 10.28 AM.

Besides, the CR informed, the last Up train on Up slow main line leave Byculla at 9.50 AM and arrive CSMT at 9.59 AM, while last Up train on Up Slow Harbour Line will leave Vadala Road at 9.52 AM and arrive CSMT at 10.10 AM.

Along with that, the Up and Down suburban services on Harbour Line will not be available between CSMT and Vadala Road stations and the same will be diverted on fast line between Byculla and CSMT stations. There will be a delay of 15 minutes for Mumbai local train services between Vadala Road – Panvel and Vadala Road – Bandra/Goregaon stations.

Western Line

For passengers of the Western Line in the Mumbai local trains, there will be a block on Sunday. The WR had undertaken maintenance works of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment for four hours at night between 00.30 AM to 4.30 AM on Up and Down slow lines. It was carried out during the intermittent night of December 1 and 2 between Vasai Road and Virar stations. During that tenure, Down slow line trains were operating on Down fast lines between the two railway stations.
