According to reports, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the man for under section 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Speaking to ANI, Avinash Pandey, Superintendent of Police Meerut (Rural) said, "The accused Fayaz Ahmed had shared objectionable posts on PM Narendra Modi, the accused has been sent to jail under IT Act." In a similar incident last week, a Greater Noida resident was booked for making objectionable comments against PM Narendra Modi. The posts were made during an argument on social media with another person. As per the complaint, he made a derogatory remark against caste and objectionable remark against PM and media fraternity.
