Bhopal, August 28: In a tragic incident of medical apathy, one person died, while 25 others are critical at District Hospital in Datia allegedly due to a single syringe used by the nurses yesterday. Relatives of the deceased alleged that medical staff gave the wrong injection. A complaint has been registered in connection with the case. Police said, "Received a complaint that wrong injections were given to patients because of the negligence of nurses.”Report of medical board is still awaited, while the investigation is underway in the case.
Civil surgeon Dr PK Sharma confirmed that single syringe was used for all patients. He further added that instead of distilled water, normal water was used by nurses. He assured proper investigation in the case. However, the hospital authorities claimed that the injections given to the patient had not crossed the expiry date.
In another incident of medical apathy in the state, a woman was forced to deliver a baby on a bus in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur. Her husband alleged that they were not provided an ambulance to take the woman from community hospital to district hospital. The woman was earlier taken to a community hospital, where she was told to visit a district hospital. , so they had to take a bus to the district hospital.
