Bharuch, August 20: In another incident of medical apathy, a sweeper of Bharuch Civil Hospital assisted a doctor in giving stitches to a patient. The video of the incident is going viral on social media. The incident took place on August 19. Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have started an investigation into the case. Resident medical officer SR Patel told media, ‘we are investigating the case. Once it is done we will inform the higher authorities’.

In a similar incident in July, a video went viral, in which an eighth class passed man could be seen operating a patient in a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. The incident was reported from Aryan hospital of the district. The video also revealed a compounder of the hospital giving anaesthesia to the patient. However, the accused and the owner of the hospital Nardev Singh refuted the allegations.

Meanwhile, the Acting Chief Medical Office (ACMO) Ashok Kumar Handa said that the hospital was sealed before as well for irregularities. According to media reports, more than 20 patients have died in Aryan hospital in the past one year. The hospital was sealed thrice before the incident for irregularities.
