New Delhi, August 7: BJP party veteran and Former External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night due to a sudden cardiac arrest. According to a video shared by ANI, Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, the owner of MDH spice company, can be seen getting emotional after paying tribute to the former Minister, whose mortal remains were kept at the BJP headquarters. Several leaders including PM Narendra Modi broke down today while paying their final tribute to the leader. Swaraj has been cremated on Wednesday with full state honours, and thousands of people with tears in their eyes gathered to bid adieu to the Minister who helped many. Swaraj, 67, died at AIIMS last night where she was rushed to after suffering a heart attack. Shortly after she was admitted, the doctors issued a statement confirming her demise. Her sudden demise has left everyone in shock, with netizens recalling how she came to the rescue of the common man during her stint as the external affairs minister.

Politicians cutting across party lines offered their condolences and remembered Swaraj. With 13.1 million followers on Twitter, Swaraj was one of the world's most popular woman political leaders on social media. Swaraj was known for her prompt responses to people's problems, especially of Indians living abroad.

With Sushma Swaraj's untimely demise on Tuesday, Delhi has lost three former chief ministers in less than a year, the other two leaders being Sheila Dixit and Madan Lal Khurana.
