Mumbai, December 19: Two days after the major fire in the ESIC Kamgar Hospital in Mumbai, a fire erupted in a slum in Matunga on Wednesday. The latest report says that six fire tenders have reached the spot and trying to douse the fire. However, no casualty has been reported as of yet.

Earlier on Monday, a massive fire erupted in a government hospital in Andheri’s Marol area which killed eight people and injured 157 others. Among the people killed including a six-month-old baby. The reason for the fire is still to ascertain, but the state government has clearly said that perpetrators will not be spared.
Union Minister Santosh Gangwar had announced Rs 10 lakh for the families who lost their lives, Rs 2 lakh for those with severe injuries and Rs 1 lakh for those with minor injuries. According to the firefighter, that ESIC Kamgar Hospital did not obtain a final No Objection Certificate (NOC).
